I started reading fluently from the age of 8, and having come from a family background which cherished books, by the time I was in my teens, I had read several books that were light years beyond my age and exposure.
When I was 10, there was this book I saw mother was always reading. It had the picture of a bolt of lightning breaking the chains binding on two human hands. It even had the picture of its author at its back cover. It struck me at that age that it must be a true life story.
One night, I saw the book in her drawer and I began to read it too. That book was Born Twice: From Demonism to Christianity by Kalu Abosi.
Right now, I can’t place my finger on where my personal copy is. If I remember correctly, the last time I had it in my possession was in 2006. I think I loaned it to a friend at the time, who unfortunately didn’t return it to me.
The book itself was published circa 1994 and is now out of print. However, having read and narrated it to friends several times for a period of nine years, I still remember much of its content and I intend to narrate it here as well in a series of posts.
There are some testimonies of “former Satanists” that are not up to par. The authors themselves have been found to be folks of a dubious nature – quacks and sensationalists who merely wanted to make a name for themselves. But Brother Kalu’s testimony – which isn’t that common – has passed the tests.
Some years ago, I came across a Facebook post by one Pastor Allwell Orji, who describes himself on his Facebook page as a Servant in God’s Vineyard, who revealed that he personally knew the author (Kalu Abosi) and was also mentored by the same cleric at whose crusade he was converted: Rev. Uma Ukpai.
He revealed that he was in fact, the first person with whom Kalu shared his powerful testimony as an ex-Satanist at the time, but he was too young in the faith to stomach the depth of information.
Now, I believe the content of that book posed a great danger to Satan’s kingdom and he and his forces have tried to stamp it out of public memory. This, I will try to undo, by recollecting it as much as my memory allows. (Note: some names and geographical features of certain places mentioned in the book have changed over the years).
For those who still have the book handy, I welcome your corrections, feedback and additional inputs, particularly in areas where my memory lapsed in coherence and detail.
The book consisted of 12 or 13 chapters. I don’t remember all the titles of each chapter, but I’ve improvised with my own titles in areas that I couldn’t recall. The first few pages were the foreword by a pastor and words of Scripture (germane Bible passages were interspersed all through the book).
Chapter 1: My First Family
It started with Kalu telling the reader about his previous family. His parents were fishers and notorious witch doctors in Cameroon. They lived at Nakke Quarters, Kumba, Cameroon. His name was Arena (he was apparently a teenager) and had two younger sisters, Martha and Bayo.
One day, during their fishing trips, his parents were involved in a boat accident and they both drowned in the lake. His sisters too were later swept away during a flood.
He attended school for a while but his hope of going to school was dashed when a strange wind blew away his school uniform and without having a way to fend for himself, he pleaded with one of his father’s friends to allow him go with them in their fishing trips. One day, while they were sailing, a storm came up against their boat and they were all hurled into the lake.
Chapter 2: My Capture into the Spirit World.
After he fell into the water body, in a twinkle of an eye, he realized that rather than being drowned, he found himself descending before a splendid palace in an unknown location. The edifice and its surroundings were beautiful but the place was quiet.
He walked in through the entrance in trepidation, and in one of the halls, he saw two young ladies who spoke to him in a foreign language. They knew he was a stranger, given his attire, and as he later learned through interrogative gesticulation, they were asking him who he was, who brought him there and where he came from.
When their tauntings became unbearable, he became afraid and began to cry as they badgered him with questions in their language. The ladies began to make a jest of him until a glamorous woman appeared with two ladies (a lady on either side) making them all five.
At the appearance of this beautiful woman with a commanding presence, they abruptly stopped laughing and bowed to her, gesturing what he later got to know was obeisance.
The woman looked at Arena, and introduced herself as the Queen of the Coast and the ladies were her agents. She welcomed him to her kingdom and told them he was her special guest whom she had been expecting for quite some time. She told him to feel at home as he would be staying with her for now.
She explained to him that his late parents were her servants, but they were too stubborn and even though she gave them a long rope to fulfill their obligations, they had become elephant-skinned and she had to eliminate them. She asked him if he would like to see his parents and sisters, he answered in the affirmative.
She took him to a spacious room with its floor well tiled and very neat. She went to a cupboard and opened its part showing him his parents’ decapitated heads. He was struck with grief. She went over to open another cupboard and he showed him his sisters’ heads, all looking freshly preserved.
Arena broke down and cried and confronted the queen about how wicked she must be for killing his family. She grew annoyed and threatened to kill him over his emotional outbursts if he would not cooperate with her. She told him that she spared only him because she loved and he was going to continue from where his parents had stopped.
She ordered her male agents to take off his fishing rags and give him a new set of shirt and trouser to wear (he didn’t realize it at the time, but this was his first initiation). According to him, the design of their shirts and trousers was different from that used here on earth.
The queen took him to a “spiritual operation” room where he saw assorted candles in various shapes, colours and forms. One of the candles was shaped like a man and had the wick on its head where it’s lit.
The queen took him to another room that looked high-tech. The computers there were like big white refrigerators. The queen smiled at him and told him to open up one of the computers, but he was too afraid to do so for that was his first brush with technology.
The queen simply moved her hand up and the screencover of the computer opened, showing the data stored in the system. On it, he could see the bodily materials removed from his parents and sisters which had been stored in it including the percentage composition of these materials.
The Queen explained to him that there are 33,000 demi-gods in her kingdom and she would see to it that he visits their chief very soon. She also told him about their president, Satan, but he wasn’t yet qualified to meet him, as it is, but when that time comes for him to go back to the earth plane, she will make the meeting possible.
Chapter 3: The Market in the Beast
Arena, as a neophyte, was told he would be put through training sessions in the palace. These were series of lectures undertook by different appointed teachers each day who would leave for him pamphlets to study before the next study. The lectures were delivered according to topics and dealt with his purpose and assignments. At this point, they attuned him to their language.
He said some of what he was taught were quite inexplicable, but he had lots of questions during the lectures: how possible it would be for him to return to earth with his face without his people being afraid, who would be his parents now since the former were dead, where in the world would he return to etc.
His lecturers told him answers will be provided when the time comes. He asked them how many years he had spent in their kingdom as of that time, he was told nine years. Apparently, to him, it looked like few months.
The meal served there were flesh and blood which he couldn’t partake of, so an agent was assigned to supply him with assorted fruit while he waited behind the door each day. Later on, he was introduced to a tree outside, at a location. This tree had all kinds of fruit growing on it, so whenever he was hungry he would go out there to feed himself.
One day, the Queen called him into her private chamber and told him about the benefits of eating their meal: human flesh and blood. She told him there was nothing really bad in it, and that he actually needs it, if he was going to succeed in his assignment. Arena said he might try the flesh if it was cooked, but the queen blatantly told him that nothing will be cooked there.
He promised to try it and they locked him in a room containing about five refrigerators containing human flesh. After a length of time, he finally decided to try the ones that were not too fresh in there; those kept there for a while. When he tasted it, he felt like spitting it out because it was tasteless.
But from that day onwards, he couldn’t explain the mystery, he began to relish flesh and blood so much that he was often the first to finish his meal whenever it was served.
When the queen opened the door to the room that day and found out he had tried it for the first time, she was so excited that she arranged for him to be taken on an outing.
An agent drove the car (which he said looked like the exotic computerized cars seen in some cartoons or sci-fi movies) and the queen took him on a tour of the entire kingdom. The houses and roads there were very beautiful and neat, but there were no people in the streets.
Arena was also taken by the queen of the coast to visit the chief of the demi-gods who then arrayed him with powers. After this, the queen sent for him one day for a special outing and they took another hi-tech car to a location in that realm.
They alighted at a location; there was a swimming pool there containing a small quantity of water, about 17 buckets. She chanted a long incantation and the floor of the pool opened up and an enormous beast arose from its depth.
It stood menacingly looking at both of them, then the queen spoke to it in an unknown language which the beast understood. The queen turned towards Arena, told him not to fear and promise to come pick him up after his adventure.
As she turned to leave, Arena, wanted to flee with her away from the beast, but to his utter surprise, he found himself right in it big paws, like a grain of sand, it examined him carefully and then threw him right into his mouth.
He saw himself descending to see an extensive supermarket that outmatched the world’s biggest store, in size and beauty. They had sections and each one contained all the materials or accessories used here on earth, from toys to computers to musical instruments to beauty products to occult books.
On the shelves holding these demonic books he found it clearly written that these are books used by magick and occult practitioners in the physical world. He also visited the section having human flesh and blood and he ate and drank to his fill and continued in his tour.
Eventually, the queen showed up at the tail end of the gigantic store and took him home in the car. The queen told him that his assignment would be to transport all those goods he saw in the beast to the earth plane by all means possible.
Shortly after this experience, he was sitting with the queen in her chamber one day and the place was filled with an array of glamorous ladies who were her agents with messages to deliver to her on their assignments. Each of them would first pay the queen an obeisance and then offer to Arena another type of obeisance to which he responded.
When he asked the queen why her agents were paying him obeisance, she told him that his power and exposure in her kingdom far exceeds theirs. This made him glad.
Chapter 4: My First Meeting with Satan
The queen called Arena to a room one day and told him that before he would be released back to the world, he must have a meeting with Satan, the president. But he’s not yet spiritually qualified to stand in his presence, so she will have to stand with him.
With that, she used her powers to divide herself into two and Arena also into two and at her command, their two halves stuck together, such that he wasn’t standing alone, for the queen was standing with him and vice versa. Then she called and Lucifer appeared.
Satan called him by his name, Arena, in its proper dialect and he saw his prowess. He told him he has been briefed and he knows he is capable of working assiduously for the kingdom. To that end, he’s first going to be given a spiritual name. He was blindfolded and he given a metal box of alphabets to pick from.
He later realized that Satan and the queen were collecting the letters from him and arranging them on the board in the wall. When he was done, his blindfold was removed and he saw the name Cashnaya Daska on the board. That was his working name.
Satan told him he would be reborn to the world like a baby in order to fulfill his assignment and he will choose his mother-to-be from the spirit world. At his command, the large screen in the room (which we now call plasma or LED TV) began to show faces of many women from across nationalities.
As the pictures of these women rolled on the screen, Arena wasn’t interested in them because the women were in no way compared to the glamorous ladies he had seen in the queen’s kingdom. The queen seem to understand this, and at her command, the screen showed the pictures of three women, one light-skinned woman and the other two, dark-skinned.
The queen began to tell him the story of each of the women and he came to love the light-skinned woman. The queen told her she’s a native of Abiriba in Imo State (now Abia State) Nigeria and married to a man from a nearby town in the state. The queen said that this woman had five children but she was responsible for the death of her first, third and fifth children.
The couple both reside in Cameroon but the queen said they want them to relocate to Nigeria as this was where they marked out for his assignment.
Satan also showed him on the screen, pictures of wealthy men and women, influential world figures, scientists, politicians and religious leaders across board who serve them and are working in their assignments. He eventually disappeared. The queen then extricated her half self from Arena and returned his other half to him.
They monitored his parents-to-be from the screen in the spirit world for two consecutive days. The queen first kept his mother-to-be sleepless with thoughts of her deceased children, and manipulated her thoughts to supernaturally inquire the cause of their deaths.
The queen stirred up one of her friends to visit her the next morning, and after pouring out her heart to her, she opted to take her to a diviner to find out what lies beneath. She took her to the very one that the queen had selected – one of her agents.
The man inquired from his deities, but he had already been given a script by the queen. Instead of revealing the causes of her children’s death, he promised her that she will give birth to another child, a boy, who would bring prosperity to the family and erase her sorrow.
He gave her detailed instructions on what to use before her next sexual relations with her husband. She wanted to offer him some money in appreciation, but the queen signalled to him not to accept it and he refused it. Then they left.
When it was time to send him into the world, Cashnaya was summoned to the queen’s private chamber and she told him it’s time for him to go into the world. She promised to enrich his would-be parents and be with him at all times. She affixed different rings in his fingers and toes; some of these rings, she tightened them like they were nuts.
She tied her hands and legs with a kind of cord. She opened a drawer and brought out a bottle and emptied its content on his palm. Then she began to chant an incantation. It was a long one. After she was done, the substance in his hand began to melt like ice and he became a bit unconscious and soon, he realized he too was melting and he continued melting till he melted into his mother’s womb.
Now in her womb, he didn’t eat for three days because his mother’s food was different from his (human flesh and blood). The queen observed this, so she began spiritually feeding him with a strange food that was neither flesh not blood and this continued till he was born.
When he was born, he had been told some events would happen and he laughed in his cot in anticipation. A nurse that was about to pick him up for circumcision was menstruating and she fell down on her face, unable to get up in the hall. Another nurse who wasn’t having her menses was called and she succeeded.
At this point, the author emphasized that the reason the queen of the coast had such a leeway in his family was because they weren’t Christians. Had it been there was a praying Christian in his family, it would have thwarted her plans.
Chapter 5: Mission Commissioned
Shortly after he was born, Kalu’s father began to prosper in his business; he won some contracts, built a primary school, had farms, built a Presbyterian church and was made an elder in the church inspite of his ignorance of the position. His family became wealthy as the queen had promised.
Kalu and his friends would usually go into the farms and bushes some evenings to look for snails. Some of the boys were caught stealing the other boys’ snails, so each boy decided to search for the snails on his own. While Kalu was looking for snails in the woods one evening, the queen appeared and called out to him from one of the trees.
She was gorgeously dressed and held a purse in her hand. She told him that his father had infuriated her by building a church for the community and she was going to retrieve all her riches from him. She flashed the content of the purse to him and dropped it in his snail sack. She told him that the money would be for his personal upkeep and was to be securely hidden from others.
She disappeared, and when Kalu looked into the sack, he realized the snails he picked had become bigger in size when the purse touched them. His friends were all amazed at how and where he found such big snails and tried to peep into his sack, but when they saw that Kalu wasn’t releasing his hold on the sack and was too serious, they let him go.
He hid the purse by burying it somewhere around the house. On another occasion when he was about to have a bath, the queen appeared to him again, this time standing on a cloud, and expressed her disappointment with his father’s decision to build a church with her wealth. She promised to withdraw her riches and warned Kalu never to reveal her plans to anyone or he will lose his life. Then she disappeared.
Soon enough, his father began to incur losses on his farm; his business was no longer prospering, and he eventually fell victim to swindlers which made him lose all his savings. From there, he began to start again from the scratch.
